Who am I?
My name is Korede Awobowale and I am a 2012 Law graduate from the University of Warwick.
Here’s the thing, I don’t want to be lawyer (not any more, after the ordeal of my degree) and I promised myself that I would never do a job that would have me hating Mondays and living for the weekends, so I followed my true love, entrepreneurship.
It’s been a crazy journey, and almost nothing has gone the way I’d planned but I know this is where I should be and I refuse to give up.
Why did I start this blog?
Here’s the other thing, I’ve hit a rut, a major one and I can’t seem to get myself out of it. I fell ill mid February 2014 after working non-stop and although I fully recovered a week later, I just can’t seem to get my mojo back.
I’m starting this blog because I feel that my main issue is accountability. Working for yourself means you answer to no-one and while some people see that as a benefit, it can also be a major disadvantage on days you just don’t feel like doing anything.
I felt like that today, and I ended up doing dilly squat! So I’ve decided, enough is enough, this ends today. So here I am, starting this blog to keep myself accountable.
What’s the aim?
I consider myself very fortunate to have lived the life I have lived thus far, in a 1st world country and a middle class household and because of that I have many dreams in my heart, to help a lot of people. In order to do that, I need funds. So I want to have a net worth of £1 million by the 30th June 2016. This aim was created to keep me driven and focused. At the moment my net worth is minus A LOT (thanks to my student loan and a few poor business/financial decisions I’ve made in the past few years) so my immediate goal is to bring myself back up to £0 LOL!
I want to have something to report once a week. I hope you can join me on this journey from minus (literally) to One Million Pounds.
